Each year on May 3, people around the world spread the message of the importance of a free press, and remind their governments of their obligation to uphold the right to freedom of expression. What better day for CJFE to launch our annual Review of Freedom of Expression in Canada – highlighting both Canada’s freedom of expression achievements and failures over the last year? CJFE is calling on you to help spread the message, and help us share the Review across the country. As Canadians, it is our obligation to protect our right to freedom of expression and ensure this right is upheld.
For those of you in the Toronto area, please join us between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm on May 3, World Press Freedom Day, as we launch the Review at various media outlets across the city’s downtown core, and share our message with journalists and media workers.
Join us and help us garner Canada's attention! Email Sophie Nicholls at events@cjfe.org with your name and phone number no later than Thursday, April 19, 2012, and we’ll fill you in on the plan
